The Farm

The Boscobel Homestead, built in 1860, is a historic property in the Southern Highlands with a rich equestrian heritage. Originally a renowned horse stud, it was a place where foals were bred, raised, and raced across its sweeping 120 acres of open paddocks. Today, the estate remains a picturesque working farm, home to around 30 cows, 10 horses, more than 50 wild kangaroos, and countless rabbits that roam freely across the land.

The current owners are deeply passionate about horses and can often be found riding through the paddocks, grooming and feeding their beloved animals, and sharing their knowledge of horsemanship with guests. Their love for the property’s history and its animals is evident in every detail.

One of the farm’s most unique features is its charming cottage, which was once a rustic horse stable. In 2020, it was carefully restored and transformed into a luxury accommodation, blending historic character with modern comfort. Guests staying at Boscobel can experience the tranquillity of farm life, enjoy breathtaking countryside views, and watch kangaroos grazing at sunset. The homestead beautifully preserves its equestrian past while offering visitors a peaceful escape steeped in history and surrounded by nature.
